About Xultr
Texas first. Then the world.
Xultr means culture (cultura, in Spanish). We are a free publication based in Texas. Our goal is simple: bring you as much information as we can, so you can stay informed.
Texas first. Then the world.
Texas is home, so Texas leads the paper. Every day the front page opens with Texas news from newspapers, TV stations and public radio across the state. After that come the nation and the world: news, tech, finance and more.
Free for everyone
Reading Xultr is free, and it will stay free. No paywall, no subscription. A free account only adds extras, and it is free too.
How it works
Every few minutes we check the news feeds of publications we trust and lay the new stories out like a front page. Each story gets its own page with the headline, a short summary from the publisher, and a link to read the full story on their site. We never copy full articles. The writers and their websites deserve your visit.
What we add is the conversation. Readers can react, comment, reply and share every story.
What readers get
- My Paper: follow the sections and sources you care about.
- Your library: save stories, add private tags and keep private notes.
- The Daily Briefing: the top stories in your inbox each morning.
- A voice: comment, reply, and suggest new sources for the paper.
Who picks the sources?
Our editors do. Readers cannot add sources directly, but anyone with an account can suggest one. Know a great Texas source? We especially want to hear about it. See every source on the sources page.
Staying safe
We confirm every email address, and we ask for a short code from your email when you log in on a new device and every few days after. It keeps accounts safe and the comments real.
