Turn your iPad into a piano teacher with this $30 app

TL;DR: Learn piano from more than 1,000 classical pieces with a 1-year flowkey Classic Plan, now $29.97 (reg. $189).

Private piano lessons lock you into a weekly time slot and a recurring bill. If you’d rather learn on your own schedule, try flowkey. A one-year subscription to its Classic Plan is only $29.97 (reg. $189) right now.

flowkey listens through your device’s microphone or a MIDI connection and flags wrong notes as you play. Wait Mode holds the lesson in place until you hit the right keys, so beginners set the speed instead of chasing it. When a passage gets hard, slow motion, looping, and one-hand practice break it into pieces you can manage. Expert pianist videos play alongside synced sheet music, so you see the fingering and the notes at the same time.
