Microsoft's real reason for building WSL has nothing to do with replacing Linux
Microsoft leverages WSL to lock in developer tooling and cloud workflows while letting Linux thrive in data centers.
LCOS (Lunduke Computer Operating System) is a minimalist desktop Linux distribution based on Devuan and featuring the Xfce desktop. The goal of the project is to develop a usable operating system that does not require any online accounts, age verification or any other form of authentication. It also excludes artificial intelligence (AI) features and utilities written in the Rust programming language. LCOS uses the Calamares system installer, SysV init system, Xlibre display server, the GNOME Office suite (AbiWord and Gnumeric) and Brave Origin as the preferred browser.
