Three years of war have left large numbers of people missing in Gaza, some believed to remain beneath the rubble of destroyed homes and others whose whereabouts are unknown. Families are left waiting for information about whether their relatives were killed or detained, while those whose remains are eventually recovered can face another uncertainty: whether the remains can be identified after months or years underground.
