2026 has been another year of wild weather, with tropical cyclone, fire tornadoes and wildfires. 62% of cumulative human-caused CO₂ emissions between 1850 and 2019 occurred during 1970–2019—a 50-year period, according to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change). Those emissions create heat, which scrambles weather patterns and ecosystems.
