500 troops deployed to Texas' Rio Grande Valley after Coast Guard shooting
From August to September, the military used a high-energy laser in the Rio Grande Valley to take down at least 11 cartel drones.
Border Report on Wednesday confirmed that "hundreds" of military troops have been repositioned from other border posts to the Rio Grande Valley and are actively patrolling from McAllen, in Hidalgo County, and throughout Starr County. It comes after Coast Guard were shot at Sept. 26 from Mexico while patrolling the Rio Grande in Starr County.
