Engadget review recap: Apple devices, Googlebooks and Kindles
A roundup of recent reviews from Engadget.
Skorpion OS is a Debian-based Linux distribution with built-in privacy and artificial intelligence (AI) features. It uses Skorpion AI (SKAI), a fully offline AI subsystem powered by Ollama and the Qwen2.5:14B language model. The distribution offers a choice of two user interfaces - a full-featured Cinnamon desktop and a minimalist i3 tiling window manager. Both include the Firefox web browser with a pre-installed SKAI browser extension that employs offline AI only, as well as the Olly desktop assistant designed for interacting with the local filesystem using plain language. Skorpion OS is built for users who view local AI as an essential part of their operating system.
