It’s no longer enough for AI agents to browse the web and check your email; now, they want to sign into your accounts too, and one of the most popular password managers is ready to help out.
1Password has just announced a new feature that allows AI agents like ChatGPT Dots, the just-unveiled Claude Duet, Grok Bot, Meta Muse, and more to tap into your vault of stored usernames and passwords, but without actually seeing them.
Available now for 1Password individual and family accounts, the 1Password for Agents integration lets your supported AI agent log into a website using your 1Password credentials. The agent must first verify its identity with 1Password using a unique digital key; once that’s done, 1Password takes over, plugging your username and password directly into the site without your agent getting to see them.
If this kind of 1Password functionality sounds familiar, you may be thinking of 1Password for Claude, a Claude extension that lets Claude Cowork log into websites using your 1Password credentials without seeing your usernames or passwords.
