Alternative rock band Ben Folds Five is returning to the touring stage in 2027 for the first time in 15 years. The reunion-tour calendar includes a stop in Irving on Thursday, April 22, where the trio will take the Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory stage. The show starts at 7:30 pm.

Only a handful of tour dates have been announced so far, starting April 12 in Knoxville, Tennessee, and ending April 24 in Birmingham, Alabama. In that two-week stretch, the band will also appear in two other Texas cities: Austin on April 20 and Houston on April 21.

Ben Folds Five formed in 1993, and all the members in the touring trio are original members: pianist Ben Folds, bassist Robert Sledge, drummer Darren Jessee. (They called themselves five instead of three because it sounded better, according to Pitchfork music magazine.)

Their debut record came out in 1995, followed by their 1997 breakout, Whatever and Ever Amen, making this a 30th anniversary tour for the latter. The band split up in 2013.

Tickets for the dates announced so far will go on sale Friday, October 23, at 10 am via officialbenfoldsfive.com.
