Ancient bridge hidden beneath Chinese lake resurfaces after water levels fall
A nearly 400-year-old granite bridge has re-emerged from Poyang Lake in Jiangxi Province, eastern China, as water levels decline. Known as the Qianyan, or “Thousand-Eye”…
Burnet County plans to construct the Wirtz Dam bridge, a project discussed since the 1970s aimed at improving emergency medical access for Horseshoe Bay and Marble Falls residents. The approximately $63 million project involves TxDOT and federal funding. While archaeological discoveries caused delays, construction is scheduled to begin around 2029 and is expected to conclude by 2032.
