It’s a homecoming of sorts for Butler, who grew up in Tomball before playing college ball at Marquette and building a distinguished NBA career for the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat, and Golden State Warriors. Among various honors, Butler is a six-time NBA All-Star and earned All-NBA selections in five seasons.
During the NBA’s 2020 “bubble season,” Butler brought an espresso machine to his hotel room. He quickly earned a following among his fellow players for his carefully brewed coffee drinks — famously charging them $20 per cup. That acclaim led to a flagship cafe in Miami and a corresponding line of merchandise and coffee gear.
The name “Bigface” is a slang term for a $100 bill and is a “nod to Jimmy’s thinking big from day one,” according to press materials.
