Addressing EU Cyber Resilience Act
By Jacob Mammoliti, Solutions Architect, RapidFort The EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) is a regulation (EU 2024/2847) that defines mandatory cybersecurity requirements for…
Over the past few years, vision-language models (VLMs) have moved from experimental research projects to early production use. These systems take in both images and text, so they can read documents, interpret photographs, answer questions about visual content, and reason across modalities in ways that were not practical a few years ago. Better architectures and training methods explain part of this progress. Better ways of deploying models explain at least as much.
In 2026, the defining question for enterprises is no longer whether VLMs work, but whether they can run reliably, safely and cost-effectively in production. The answer depends as much on cloud infrastructure, observability and governance as on the models themselves. This article traces how VLMs evolved, why cloud computing became the turning point for adoption, where reliability still falls short, and which cloud-native practices organizations need in order to deploy them responsibly at scale.
